【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbridgebearingsthatconsistofasphericalrotationalelement,whereastainlesssteelconvexsurfaceslidesagainstaconcavecarbonsteelplatecoveredwithwovenorsheetpolytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE).Thefunctionofthebearingistotransferloadsandtoaccommodateanyrelativemovement,includingrotationbetweenabridgesuperstructureanditssupportingstructure,orboth.1.2Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsofsphericalbearingswithastandardhorizontalload(amaximumof10%ofvertical).1.3Therequirementsstatedinthisspecificationaretheminimanecessaryforthemanufactureofqualitybearingdevices.Itmaybenecessarytoincreasetheseminimumvaluesduetootherdesignconditions.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section7,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
