【摘要】:1.1Thisguideidentifiesanddescribesseventestmethodsformeasuringtheindexofrefractionofglass,withcommentsrelevanttotheirusessuchthatanappropriatechoiceofmethodcanbemade.Fouradditionalmethodsarementionedbyname,andbriefdescriptiveinformationisgiveninAnnexA1.Thechoiceofatestmethodwilldependupontheaccuracyrequired,thenatureofthetestspecimenthatcanbeprovided,theinstrumentationavailable,and(perhaps)thetimerequiredfor,orthecostof,theanalysis.Refractiveindexisafunctionofthewavelengthoflight;therefore,itsmeasurementismadewithnarrow-bandwidthlight.Dispersionisthephysicalphenomenonofthevariationofrefractiveindexwithwavelength.Thenatureofthetest-specimenreferstoitssize,form,andqualityoffinish,asdescribedineachofthemethodsherein.Thetestmethodsdescribedaremostlyforthevisiblerangeofwavelengths(approximately400to780m);however,somemethodscanbeextendedtotheultravioletandnearinfrared,usingradiationdetectorsotherthanthehumaneye.1.1.1Listoftestmethodsincludedinthisguide:Beckeline(methodofcentralillumination),Apparentdepthofmicroscopefocus(themethodoftheDucdeChaulnes),CriticalAngleRefractometers(AbbetypeandPulfrichtype),Metriconsystem,Vee-blockrefractometers,Prismspectrometer,andSpecularreflectance.1.1.2Testmethodspresentedbynameonly(seeAnnexA1):Immersionrefractometers,Interferometry,Ellipsometry,andMethodofobliqueillumination.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.2Warning-Refractiveindexliquidsareusedinseveralofthefollowingtestmethods.Cleaningwithorganicliquidsolventsalsoisspecified.Degreesofhazardassociatedwiththeuseofthesematerialsvarywiththechemicalnature,volatility,andquantityused.Seemanufacturer''sliteratureandgeneralinformationonhazardouschemicals.
